Two teens to be charged with murder of Sheboygan Falls woman

SHEBOYGAN FALLS -- Two juveniles, ages 13 or 14, are in custody and expected to be charged with first-degree intentional homicide on Friday, September 21st, in connection with the murder of a Sheboygan Falls woman at her home on Westridge Dr. Sheboygan Falls Police are calling the woman's death "particularly violent."

The 78-year-old victim was found on the floor her garage shortly after 1 p.m. on Wednesday, September 19th.

In a news conference on Thursday, police said one of the juveniles knew the victim in this case. While the motive for the killing is not known at this time, investigators say some valuables were missing from the victim's home.

“We believe at this time the individuals went to the residence with the intent to cause harm, but there are items missing from the residence," Sheboygan Falls Police Chief Steven Riffel said.

One neighbor was so distraught by the news, she attended the news conference on Thursday.

"“I have three kids. This kind of stuff doesn’t happen in Sheboygan Falls," Bobbie Norlander said.

Another woman who lives just a few doors down from the elderly victim told FOX6 News the woman seemed like a nice neighbor. She cannot comprehend how boys so young could be capable of such a heinous crime.

“That’s unbelievable. Terrible. I don’t even know what to say. Very sad," Debbie Walsdorf said.

The suspects were arrested early Thursday after search warrants were executed. The Department of Justice is now assisting with the investigation.
