President Obama, Romney campaigns busy in Wisconsin

MILWAUKEE -- Air Force One touched down in Milwaukee on Saturday afternoon, September 22nd. President Barack Obama came to town for two big events. At the same time, the Republican Party was also busy in the state of Wisconsin this weekend.

Despite a recent poll showing President Obama up by double digits over Gov. Mitt Romney, Joe Zepecki from Obama's campaign team says Democrats do not feel America's Dairyland is a lock.

We don't take a single vote for granted, or a single community for granted," Zepecki said.

That's why President Obama spent a good chunk of Saturday in Milwaukee, appearing at a private fundraiser at the Milwaukee Theatre, followed by a public event at the Summerfest grounds in downtown Milwaukee.

1984 was the last time Republicans took Wisconsin in the November presidential race. With Paul Ryan on the ticket, some feel Romney could be the next.

"We're on the wrong path. We need to get on a different path for economic growth," Ted Kanavas from Romney's campaign said.

Republicans campaigned in Waukesha Saturday with appearances from Romney's son, Tagg. Republican National Committee Chairman Reince Priebus and Senator Ron Johnson also spoke.
