Lashawn Toney (9-28-2012)

MILWAUKEE -- U.S. Marshals are looking for 29-year-old Lashawn Toney -- a wanted fugitive linked to a gang and accused of trying to hide a weapon near a school.

Toney was accused of carrying a sawed-off shotgun near 14th and Greenfield on Milwaukee's south side. Police chased and arrested him near a middle school. Investigators say Toney claimed he found the weapon behind a convince store.

"Walking down the street with a sawed-off shotgun in his hand. Just a blatant disregard for any kind of public safety, let alone his own safety. Propped up on his shoulder like a trophy. (Toney) claimed not only did he find (the shotgun) behind a Walgreens -- someone just happened to throw it away," Deputy U.S. Marshal Jeremy Loesch said.

Investigators say it's not the first time Toney's been linked to that kind of firearm. He was accused of possessing one back in 2009.

Toney is 6'1" tall and weighs about 200 pounds. His nickname is "Suave."

If Toney is in Milwaukee, he could be hiding out in near 8th and Maple or 29th and Mitchell.
