Nissan recalling certain 2012, 2013 Altima vehicles
NEW YORK (AP) — Nissan is recalling certain model year 2012 and 2013 Altima vehicles that total about 13,900 because its bolts could become loose and fall out, increasing the risk of a car crash.
The National Highway Traffic Safety Administration says on its website that the vehicles may have been equipped with transverse link bolts and power steering rack bolts that were not torqued to proper specification.
The vehicles were made from May 10 through July 26. Dealers will tighten the bolts to the proper specifications.
The recall is expected to begin on or about Oct. 29.
Owners with questions may call Nissan at 1-800-647-7261.
