RACINE CO. — For the second time in less than two months, a Skydive Midwest airplane made a rough landing near the Racine County airport where it departed.
The most recent incident happened Monday night, October 22nd. The plane crashed onto Interstate 94 near Highway 20 in Racine County.
The twin-engine 1968 Beecher aircraft plane skidded off the runway and onto I-94, blocking all three lanes of traffic. Fortunately, there were no cars in the plane’s path, and no one was injured on the ground.
A male pilot was uninjured and a female passenger was taken to the hospital with non life threatening injuries.
The same plane that crashed on Monday was forced to make an emergency landing after developing some mechanical problems on Saturday, August 25th. In that case, the plane was forced to land on Highway 11 just east of I-94. The plane had to be towed back to the airport. There were no injuries.
It was cloudy and rainy on Monday — though it is unclear at this time if the weather played a role in this incident.
