Democrats' Moore wins Milwaukee-area U.S. House seat

MILWAUKEE (AP) -- Democratic Rep. Gwen Moore has been re-elected to her U.S. House seat, which covers much of the Milwaukee area.

Moore defeated Republican Dan Sebring and Independent Robert Raymond on Tuesday, November 6th to keep her seat in the 4th District, a longtime Democratic stronghold.

The 61-year-old Moore has served eight years in Congress, where she's been active in helping minorities run small businesses. She sits on the powerful House Budget Committee, where she's clashed with Republican Wisconsin Rep. Paul Ryan.

According to her financial reports, Moore is the least wealthy member of Wisconsin's congressional delegation. But she had a heavy fundraising advantage during her re-election race.

She raised about $750,000 by mid-October compared to the roughly $26,000 raised by Sebring, who owns an auto-repair business. Raymond didn't file a fundraising report.
