President Obama calls volunteer at Brown Deer campaign office

MILWAUKEE -- With the presidential campaign over, President Barack Obama has been stopping by campaign offices thanking volunteers for their hard work. He also called a woman at the Brown Deer campaign office.

It was President Obama's first 'thank you' phone call to a Wisconsin volunteer.

Hattie Portis-Jones has been working at the Brown Deer campaign office, but lives in Atlanta, GA. She came to Wisconsin to campaign for President Obama in a battleground state.

"He thanked me for being nice to him when I didn't know who he was. Needless to say, that is the highlight of my life!" Portis-Jones said of the special call she received Tuesday.

Portis-Jones told FOX6 News she attended Marquette University, and plans to return home Wednesday.
