Hit-and-run victim's family makes plea to public for help in locating driver

MILWAUKEE -- Milwaukee police are investigating a hit-and-run crash that left a man injured. It happened Saturday night, November 3rd near 35th and North Ave.

Leaving his daughter's house on Saturday night, 40-year-old Brendan Bradley crossed North Avenue just off 35th Street. Even when Bradley got the right of way, he was struck by an older model 1990s Chevy truck, light blue in color.

"My husband was a hard-working man who loves his children, who walked with his children a lot. What happened to my husband -- the family doesn't wish that on anybody else," Bradley's wife, Kimberly told FOX6 News.

The driver didn't stop, and Bradley was left on the street. The hit was so severe, Bradley's life will never be the same. His leg was severed by the impact.

"We are grateful that he's still with us. The person who did this didn't only affect my husband. That person affected the whole family," Kimberly Bradley said.

Bradley continues to recover at Froedtert Hospital, and his family remains optimistic regarding his recovery. Bradley will learn how to walk with the help of a cane and prosthetic leg.

"His spirits are pretty good, but in an incident like this, he's a hard-working individual. He has younger children and just the impact of it all -- not just emotionally but financially," Kimberly Bradley said.

Bradley's wife says the family is restless until they find the person responsible for Saturday night's hit-and-run.

"Until we get closure from the person who did this to my husband, we can't begin the healing process," Kimberly Bradley said.
