Mount Pleasant P.D. search for carjacking suspect

MOUNT PLEASANT -- Police are asking for the public's help in their search for a carjacking suspect. Officials say he stole a woman's car after knocking her to the ground at a Mount Pleasant dental office.

Our news partners at Mount Pleasant Patch reported that the victim was in the parking lot of Dr. Lenz Orthodontics just before 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday, November 13th. She was approached by a man who knocked her to the ground and stole her purse and her keys and drove away in her car.

Officers spotted the vehicle near the intersection of Highway 11 and Oakes Road going westbound. When police tried to initiate a traffic stop, the suspect turned north onto Cottage Drive and fled on foot and managed to elude capture.

The carjacking suspect is described as a male, white, in his mid 30s, 6' to 6'2" tall, with a slim build. He had shoulder-length hair and was wearing blue jeans and a brown leather jacket.
