Two years in prison for man accused in Sheboygan shooting

SHEBOYGAN — 27-year-old Ronnie Polk, the man accused of shooting and killing 24-year-old Brandon Davis, was sentenced on Tuesday, November 20th. 

Polk was sentenced for two charges -- second degree reckless homicide and felon in possession of a firearm. For the homicide charge, Polk received five years of probation. For the firearm charge, Polk received two years in prison followed by two years of extended supervision.

Through a plea deal, the first degree reckless homicide charge was dismissed and the second degree reckless homicide charge was added.

Davis was shot and killed  June 16th on S. 9th St. just south of High Ave. in Sheboygan.

Witnesses told FOX6 News Polk is Davis’ older brother, and Polk was horsing around with a gun when it went off, hitting Davis in the chest.

Witnesses insisted the shooting was an accident. They said Polk would never shoot his own brother.

Police recovered the weapon, a 9 mm Glock, used in the shooting.
