Unique (and, to some, crazy) baby names seem to be all the rage these days, but some say one parent took it too far — giving their newborn baby girl a name that is an ode to social media.

The baby was named “Hashtag Jameson.” Appropriately, the baby’s parent posted a picture and the birth announcement on Twitter, saying: “Hashtag Jameson was born at 10 o’clock last nite,” the proud parent announced on Facebook Saturday night. “She weys 8 pounds and i luv her so much!!!!!!”

Many on Twitter criticized the parents, creating hashtags of their own, to include: #Foolishparents and #StupidestNameEver.

Hashtag isn’t the first baby named after a social networking application. In 2011, a man in Egypt named his firstborn daughter Facebook.
