Two arrested after Milwaukee police chase ends in Mequon

MEQUON -- Two suspects led Milwaukee police officers on a police pursuit Friday night that went through several communities and eventually ended in Mequon.

The incident started just before 10 p.m. when officers attempted to stop several stolen vehicles in a parking area in Lincoln Park near Hampton Ave. The driver of one of the stolen vehicles attempted to flee by leaving the pavement -- and entering the park area. In the process of doing so, the driver nearly struck two officers who were making an arrest.

The driver then entered the roadway and was pursued and crashed into some bursh near N. Buntrock and Mequon Road.

Police say two suspects were taken into custody. One male juvenile was arrested at the scene and the second suspect was eventually tracked down by a K-9 unit.

Neither the officers nor the suspects were hurt in this incident.

The Milwaukee Police Department was assisted by members of the Milwaukee County Sheriff's Office, the Brown Deer Police Department and the Mequon Police Department.
