Franklin volunteers sending cookies to troops overseas

FRANKLIN -- From snickerdoodles to spritz, and chocolate chip and monster cookies, 40,000 cookies baked in Wisconsin will soon be headed overseas. The cookies were made in an effort to bring a bit of the holidays to the troops serving our country.

The cookie collection is over, but getting the cookies overseas is a whole different battle. It will cost about $2,500 to mail the cookies to the troops.

Organizers have only raised about half that money.

Donations can be made to help mail the cookies at the Franklin Public Library. Cash or check donations made payable to Books for Soldiers-Franklin can be sent to Pyramax Bank, 9000 W. Drexel Ave., Franklin WI 53132.
