The lights, the trees, the music, the shopping, all signs of the holidays. But there is more to this magical season – the chance to help others, give back and make a difference.  At FOX6, we call it the Season of Giving.

This year, we’re shining the spotlight on four charities in southeast Wisconsin. Each of these organizations helps thousands of people in our community every year. It’s easy to get involved and there are several ways you can make the holidays brighter for those in need.

FOX6 also celebrates the holidays with the Season of Giving Holiday Special hosted by Ted Perry and Mary Stoker Smith. Join us as we share the best in food, music, lights and charity. Watch the Season of Giving Holiday Special on Monday, December 24th at 9 p.m., and Tuesday, December 25th at 11 a.m. For more information on the places and events seen in the Season of Giving, click on the links below.

The Salvation Army’s downtown shelter serves the homeless by providing food and overnight lodging on a temporary basis for varying amounts of time. It also provides educational, counseling and vocational services to homeless individuals and families for extended periods.

On the court, the Milwaukee Bucks mission is to play hard and pursue victory. Off the court, the Bucks mission is to contribute to a better quality of life in Milwaukee and Wisconsin, and to positively affect the lives of all people in this community.

As highly visible members of the community, the Bucks players, coaches and front office staff acknowledge and accept their unique role in society and are pledged to improve the community’s welfare through their expertise, energy, effort and dollars. Each Milwaukee Bucks player is committed to being a part of the community, away from the bright lights of the basketball court.”
