21-year-old man drives into hole in construction zone on Mayfair Road

WAUWATOSA — Wauwatosa police say a 21-year-old man’s vehicle ended up in a hole in the 1000 block of Mayfair Road early Monday morning, December 10th.

Police say the man was headed southbound in the northbound lanes just before 3:00 a.m. Monday. 

The man was traveling in a construction zone close to the median, and went into the excavation. The man’s vehicle hit a gas pipe and then flipped over. 

Police say the man was able to walk away from the crash, and was not injured. There was no damage to the gas pipe.

Police say their preliminary investigation indicates alcohol may have been involved in this crash.

The driver was not taken into custody.
