Burlington man charged with identity theft of soldier in Kosovo

RACINE -- 21-year-old Kenneth Lux faces two felony charges including identity theft and obstructing an officer.

The criminal complaint against Lux indicates that during a traffic stop on Wednesday, July 25th, Lux provided the officer who was conducting the stop a name other than his own.

The complaint indicates however, that the name Lux provided the officer was actually that of a man who had been serving with the U.S. military in Kosovo for the past six months.

It wasn't realized that Lux had allegedly used that identity until September 11th. That's when the soldier's father called police to indicate his son's identity had been stolen.

If convicted of the charges, Lux faces up to six years in prison and $10,000 in fines.
