Dems cast Wisconsin's electoral votes for Pres. Obama

MADISON (AP) -- Wisconsin Democrats have cast the state's 10 electoral votes for Barack Obama and Joe Biden.

The 10 Democratic electors met at noon Monday in Republican Gov. Scott Walker's conference room in the state Capitol. Smiling and laughing, the group cast their votes in about 20 minutes. They applauded themselves as they adjourned and donned pin-on buttons with headshots of the president that declared the wearer an Obama elector.

The group's votes will be sent to Biden in his capacity as president of the U.S. Senate. Copies also will go to the national archivist in Washington, D.C., Wisconsin Secretary of State Doug La Follette and U.S. Judge Barbara Crabb, the chief judge for the federal Western District of Wisconsin, where the votes took place.
