Many communities to be under snow emergencies Thursday

MILWAUKEE -- Many communities in southeast Wisconsin will be under a snow emergency when dawn breaks on Thursday, December 20th. They are listed below:

In the city of Milwaukee, winter parking regulations began on Saturday, December 1st. Most residential streets will require alternate side night parking. Check for posted signs first for winter parking regulations on those streets where you plan to park or click here. If there are no posted signs, click here for more information, or call 414-286-CITY (2489) – 24 hours a day, seven days a week.

The Department of Public Works also offers a text message alert system called Snow Mobile-Winter Text Alert, which informs subscribers when the city declares a snow emergency or when the “four-inch rule” goes into effect. Sign up for this alert at milwaukee.gov/mpw.
