West Bend public works director deals with his last storm

WEST BEND -- Rick Heisler has worked for the West Bend Public Works Department for the past 26 years. But he'll be retiring in about a week.

Heisler has been the director for the last three years. Before that, he was the superintendent.

On Thursday, December 20th, Heisler was monitoring the snow plow operators movements in West Bend -- and reminiscing with FOX6's Justin Williams.

"There`s been a lot of intermingling with a lot of people, and I got to know a lot of people, over the years, and it`s gonna be hard to walk away from that because that was always the fun part of the job. I always enjoyed those challenges and always tried to do what was best for the city of West Bend. We have a great city, here," said Heisler.

Heisler says he's pleased with the improvements he's witnessed over the years in terms of equipment the department uses for its various operations.

Heisler's last day on the job is Wednesday, December 28th.
