WASHINGTON CO. —  60-year-old Billy Cleveland of the Town of Farmington died after a rollover crash on County Highway C in the Town of Polk on Tuesday evening, January 1st.

The rollover crash happened shortly after 8 p.m. at Hillside Rd. The accident was called in by two individuals who came upon the scene.

Investigators say their preliminary investigation shows that Cleveland’s SUV was traveling northbound on Hwy. C at a speed that did not allow him to safely negotiate a curve at the intersection. The vehicle rolled on its roof, partially ejecting Cleveland who was not wearing a safety belt.

It is unknown if alcohol was a factor.

The accident remains under investigation by the Washington County Sheriff’s Office and their Accident Reconstruction Team.
