Kenosha police investigate death of two-year-old boy

KENOSHA -- Kenosha police are investigating the death of a two-year-old boy at a home on the city's south side.

Police responded to the home around 3:30 p.m. on Tuesday, January 1st. When they entered the home, they found the boy was not breathing. An officer started to perform CPR on the boy until the Kenosha Fire Department rescue squad arrived.

The boy was taken to a Kenosha hospital where he later died.

The medical examiner has conducted an autopsy on the child. The cause of death is undetermined, pending toxicology results.

Officials say the boy had been ill prior to his death.
