West Allis police detective arrested for sexual assault, misconduct in office

WEST ALLIS -- Law enforcement sources on Wednesday night, January 9th told FOX6 News a West Allis police detective was arrested Wednesday afternoon on suspicion of sexual assault and official misconduct.

Sources say Bradley Sterling was on duty Wednesday afternoon when he approached a female at 71st and Burnham. Sources say Sterling told the woman he found her attractive and said he wanted to have sex with her.

Sources say Sterling asked the woman if she would like to have sex and use cocaine. 

Sources told FOX6 News Sterling asked to search the woman, and then groped her privates.

Sterling has been released from custody.

The West Allis Police Department has confirmed a detective was arrested for sexual assault and misconduct, but have not named the officer arrested at this time.

An internal investigation is underway at the West Allis Police Department, and charges have been referred to the District Attorney's Office.
