U.S. Bank awards $20,000 grant to Fisher House Wisconsin

MILWAUKEE (WITI) -- U.S. Bank awarded a $20,000 grant to Fisher House Wisconsin on Tuesday, January 15th.

The funds will be used to help with the construction of Fisher House’s new permanent facility, which is scheduled to break ground in spring 2013 on the grounds of the Clement J. Zablocki VA Medical Center in Milwaukee.

The nonprofit received the grant at a recent check presentation ceremony at the U.S. Bank building in downtown Milwaukee. Dan Buttery, president of Fisher House Wisconsin’s board of directors and Iraq combat veteran, accepted the grant on behalf of Fisher House.

In a news release issued Tuesday, Buttery said., “Fisher House Wisconsin is grateful for this generous contribution from U.S. Bank. U.S. Bank continues to play a critical role in our community, and this grant represents another example of their organization’s wonderful support of our nation’s military and veteran families.”

Buttery served in combat as a company commander for C/724 Combat Engineer unit in Iraq in 2003 and 2004. He is also president of HVT Marketing, a certified disabled veteran owned business in Milwaukee.
