Firefighters battle barn fire in Town of Mukwonago
MUKWONAGO — Eight fire departments were called in on Sunday evening, January 20th to battle a barn fire in the Town of Mukwonago.
It happened on Highway 83 south of I-43.
There were no animals or people in the barn at the time of the fire. It was being used to store cars and trucks.
Officials say a man had a wood-burning stove going inside the barn on Saturday while he worked on cars.
On Sunday, the fire in the stove rekindled and started the fire.
Officials say the barn was a total loss along with items inside including four vehicles.
Two men renting the barn will receive municipal citations for failing to monitor the wood-burning stove.
