Louisville routs Marquette 70-51

LOUISVILLE, Ky, –  Marquette owned sole possession of first place in the Big East conference for one day, before falling hard at 12th ranked Louisville, 70-51 Sunday.

Syracuse’s loss at Pittsburgh Saturday gave the surprising Golden Eagles the top spot, but after falling behind 9-1, the Cardinals flew over around and through the Golden Eagles.  They led by as many as 23 points before it was all over.

Vander Blue had 17 points for coach Buzz Williams team.  Trent Lockett added 16.

MU is 6-2, Louisville improves to 6 and 3.
