West Bend police investigate two separate heroin-related deaths

WEST BEND (WITI) -- The West Bend Police Department and the Washington County Medical Examiner's Officer are currently investigating two separate heroin-related deaths.

Authorities say 34-year-old Jennifer Kahut of West Bend was found dead in her apartment Wednesday, January 30th at 7 a.m. by her roommate. Following an investigation, officials believe the cause of death to be from an overdose of heroin.

Further investigation revealed that 35-year-old Richard Ronkoski from West Bend and 36-year-old Cornelius Green from Milwaukee supplied the heroin to Kahut. Ronkoski and Cornelius face charges of first-degree reckless homicide. Both are being held in the Washington County Jail on $45,000 bail for each.

Officials are also investigating the death of 20-year-old Matthew Vickman of West Bend. According to police, Vickman was found dead in his bathroom after his mother contacted police claiming she could not contact her son, who had locked himself in the bathroom.

Following an investigation authorities believe the cause of death to be from an overdose of heroin. Further investigation revealed that a 22-year-old man from West Bend supplied the heroin.

On Saturday, February 2nd West Bend police arrested the 22-year-old man on charges of first-degree reckless homicide. The 22-year-old is currently being held in the Washington County Jail.

The West Bend Police Department, the Washington County Medical Examiner’s Office and the Washington County District Attorney’s Office are continuing to investigate both of these cases.
