Donald Driver makes special visit after Lambeau retirement ceremony

GREEN BAY (WITI) -- Wednesday, February 6th was a busy day for Donald Driver. Driver officially announced his retirement during a ceremony held at Lambeau Field. Then, later Wednesday afternoon, Driver made a surprise stop in Bellevue to meet Angie LeRoy --  a long-time Packers fan who had not one, but two wishes come true.

LeRoy decorated her door with a large sign, thanking Driver for his time with the Packers, and wishing him a happy Valentine's Day. She said Donald is her favorite Packer, and would like to go to his retirement ceremony but didn't have a ticket.

Viewers of FOX6's partners in Green Bay, WLUK, stepped up and gave her that chance.

LeRoy was at Lambeau Field Wednesday morning -- but that wasn't her only request.

"He is my idol. I was a cancer survivor, and I just hope someday I can get a big hug from him," Driver said.

That dream came true Wednesday afternoon. Driver heard about LeRoy's story and made a surprise visit.

"So I said, 'I'm going to make that day come true. I will find her today, and give her a hug.' So here's your hug love, thank you so much," Driver said.

It was a special moment LeRoy.  Part of a day she says she will never forget!
