Thursday's snowfall meant weekend fun in Milwaukee Co. Parks

MILWAUKEE (WITI) -- After Thursday's measurable snowfall, many looked to get outside and have some fun in the snow this weekend! For many, that meant sledding at Whitnall Park!

Guy Smith with the Milwaukee County Parks System says Thursday's snowfall gave them a boost.

"This weekend has been one of our biggest. We've got sledding, we've got skiing, and we've got Door County sled dogs. It's actually a winter wonderland!" Smith said.

Lots of folks of all ages took to the hills before the rain moved in on Sunday.

"The way we look at it is we`ll probably have another one good month of snow so we're coming out here having a good time," Scott Siemers.

The rain rolling in on Sunday didn't put a damper on the fun for Siemers.

"Took a walk on the trail by the nature center and we came out here sledding," Siemers said.

As folks took to the sledding hill, others hitched a ride on a dog sled.

"It`s very unique, especially being in the Milwaukee area. You don`t even feel like your in Milwaukee. You feel like you`re up north or something," Rodeny Effinger said.
