Ex-cop Christopher Dorner's online manifesto mentions Milwaukee man

MILWAUKEE (WITI) -- When law enforcement showed up in a Milwaukee neighborhood, it turned heads -- especially when people found out that presence was related to a killing spree in California.

"You see everybody out walking their dogs and that's about the most action for now that goes on for this neighborhood," one neighbor told FOX6 News.

"It's quite a surprise actually," another neighbor said.

A smoldering cabin 80 miles east of Los Angeles may be the place former LAPD officer, 33-year-old Christopher Dorner exchanged fire with police.

Dorner is accused of killing at least four people -- one believed to be a relative of a man who played a role in his dismissal from the police force.

In an online manifesto, Dorner claimed he was fired for reporting his training officer used excessive force. In that same document, Dorner mentions his greatest friend -- a Milwaukee area man.

Dorner's post says he tried to live his life parallel to the Milwaukee man's values -- adding he was sorry he missed his friend's wedding. Dorner was supposed to be this man's best man.

In Dorner's manifesto, he apologizes for arguing with that friend when Dorner was angry at LAPD.

Authorities said Wednesday, February 13th they are reasonably sure that the body found inside the burned cabin near Big Bear Lake, California, is that of Dorner, the rogue ex-cop who allegedly had been pursuing a vendetta against his fellow officers.

"We believe that this investigation is over, at this point, and we'll just need to move on from here," San Bernardino Sheriff John McMahon told reporters.
