Racine man faces several charges after search warrant executed

RACINE (WITI) -- 23-year-old Ignacio Ramirez Jr. of Racine has been charged following the execution of a search warrant Tuesday morning, February 12th at a home on 9th Avenue in Racine. A 21-year-old woman was also arrested, but has not yet been formally charged.

Ramirez Jr. has been charged with one count of possession with intent to deliver THC as party to a crime, use of a dangerous weapon, possession with intent to deliver cocaine as party to a crime, use of a dangerous weapon, maintaining a drug trafficking place as party to a crime, use of a dangerous weapon and possession of drug paraphernalia as party to a crime.

A criminal complaint in the case indicates officers showed up to the home early Tuesday morning and knocked on the door. When there was no response, officers forcibly entered the residence.

Ramirez Jr., the woman and a two-year-old child were found to be inside the residence.

Officials discovered more than 11 pounds of marijuana, 14.4 grams of cocaine, drug packaging and drug paraphernalia.

Two handguns, an assault rifle and ammunition were also recovered from the residence.

The street value of the marijuana is approximately $57,500.

Investigators also seized a very large amount of name brand clothing items to include jeans, shirts, jackets, shoes and approximately 75 bottles of quality cologne, all brand new with store tags still attached, and $2,775 in US Currency.

The criminal complaint indicates when interviewed, Ramirez Jr. told officers he had been laid off since July 2012 and had no current employment or source of income. Ramirez Jr. told police the drugs they found were his, and tried to exclude the woman from involvement.

The woman told police she is pregnant by Ramirez Jr. and they are expecting a child in April of 2013. The woman's two-year-old daughter has another father. The woman said she was unaware of Ramirez Jr.'s drug dealing, but the criminal complaint indicates police told the woman they had indications she was aware of and involved in the drug dealing.

The criminal complaint indicates human services was called because drugs were found within the two-year-old child's reach. The boy was taken into secure and safe custody pending further investigation.
