SHEBOYGAN (WITI) — Former Sheboygan Mayor Bob Ryan avoids going to trial on fourth-degree sexual assault charges. That’s because he reached a plea deal on Monday, February 18th.

Sheboygan Co. District Attorney Joe DeCecco writes in a news release, Ryan pleaded no contest to two misdemeanor counts of disorderly conduct.

Ryan was charged for allegedly groping a woman in an Elkhart Lake bar on July 23, 2011. Ryan admitted to being at Siebkens Resort in Elkhart Lake, but denies ever touching the alleged victim.

Ryan now faces up to 90 days in jail and a $1,000 fine for each of the two counts against him. He will be sentenced on Wednesday, February 20th.
