Racine man charged with sexual assault of 15-year-old girl

RACINE (WITI) -- 49-year-old Aslam Asari of Racine has been charged with second degree sexual assault of a child under 16 years of age.

The criminal complaint in the case indicates that this incident occurred in May of 2012, when the girl was 15 years old.

The criminal complaint indicates the girl was at Asari's residence, talking with him about a job. The girl reported during the conversation, Asari grabbed her by the arms and tried to kiss her on the mouth.

The criminal complaint says the girl tried to push Asari away, and he began to tell her how nice her body was. The girl said that is when Asari grabbed her breasts.

When interviewed by police, Asari said he was "going through a lot in his life and really did not know what he was doing." The criminal complaint states Asari told police he asked the girl if he could touch her, and she, with his help, lifted up her shirt, including her bra -- exposing her breasts.

The criminal complaint says Asari told officials "he's really sorry because (the girl) is a minor and he should not have done that."

Asari admitted to officials that he had given the child rides and sometimes money.

If convicted, Asari faces a maximum of $100,000 in fines and a maximum of 40 years in prison -- or both.
