Girl living next door to man charged with sexually assaulting her

RACINE (WITI) -- The family of an eight-year-old girl from says she’s living in fear.  The man charged with sexually assaulting her has been released from jail.

“The family is on her side and we all tell her that, but justice isn’t,” said the victim’s aunt.

60-year-old Robert Lambkin is charged with first degree sexual assault of a child.  He has returned to his Racine home near Flett Avenue and Washington Avenue.  His house is right next door to his alleged victim’s.

“I have to keep her in my house.  I have to bring her to my family’s house to let her play,” said the victim’s dad.

A criminal complaint says the victim was in an alley between the two homes when Lambkin approached her and started talking.  It says he then unzipped the girl’s jacket and placed his hands on her chest.

Lambkin allegedly told police that he put his hands inside the girl’s blouse, but he didn’t think the girl noticed.  Fox 6 rang Lambkin’s doorbell and no one answered, even though a man was visible through a window.

As condition’s of his release, Lambkin is on electronic monitoring, his window shades must stay drawn, and he can’t leave his house if the girl is outside.

The victim’s father says she won’t be playing in the yard anymore.

“I think they should really get him out of here.  He’s too close to my daughter.  It’s way too close,” said the victim’s dad.

The family plans to hand out flyers in their neighborhood on Saturday to alert people to Lambkin’s release.  He appears in court on March 6th for a preliminary hearing.
