Police respond after suspicious pipe discovered at Lake Shore Middle School

MEQUON (WITI) — Lake Shore Middle School officials say on Sunday, February 24th, while cleaning and reorganizing a room at the school, staff located a piece of pipe capped at both ends.

Mequon police were notified and the school was evacuated.

Mequon police contacted MPD and requested the Hazardous Device Unit, which responded.

The pipe was moved to a safe location and rendered safe.

The pipe was found empty and appeared to be discarded plumbing parts, not an attempt to build a pipe bomb.
