In this photograph, this barn is across the street from me and you can't see the road. It looks pretty and I have no plans to venture out.

We live close to the city limits. The official measurement of snow is taken at the county airport 7 miles from the lakeshore. Closer to the lake we have much more snow than what is the official amount. We live about 1 1/2' miles west of the lakeshore. We have at least a foot of snow.

I had the day off work so while taking a break from shoveling, I really enjoyed playing with my Springer Spaniel in the snow. Seeing her ears flopping in the wind, made me forget about all the work involved for a brief moment.

With all the weather changes this winter we ended up with a very large area of ice that we cleared with our snow blower. Reegan and Timmy are enjoying ice skating at home now!! It measures about 60ft long by 30ft wide!!!

This is a picture of Pine Grosbeaks, Red Male, Green Female One of the larger members of its family, the Pine Grosbeak is a bird of the boreal forests, found across northern Eurasia and North America, and south into the mountains of western Canada and the United States. A large, unwary finch, it makes periodic winter irruptions into southern Canada and northern United States. It is the largest and rarest of the "winter finches." It is very unusual they are here in Wisconsin, especially in our backyard. We have a wonderful feeder setup for all the birds which we feed all year. I sent this photo to the Coordinator of Bird City Wisconsin and he said they don't usually come this far south and said it is a gift and for me to enjoy. They have been here almost everyday, but soon they will be gone and I may never see them again. I needed to capture the beauty while I could. I hope you enjoy too.
