Loved ones remember Milwaukee man found near dumpster

MILWAUKEE (WITI) -- He was missing for months, then his body was found in a trash bag near a dumpster.  Saturday, friends and family remembered his life.

Hundreds gathered at a Milwaukee church for Dwight Killibrew's memorial service.

"He was a loving, bright, gentle, uplifting person who would uplift your spirit at any time," Killibrew's god sister Flora Coleman said.

Kilibrew went missing in December.  Loved ones put up flyers across Milwaukee. Then, their worst fears were confirmed, his body was found in a trash bag near a dumpster on Milwaukee's north side.

"It was horrible, we sat daily and prayed," friend Barbara Mathis said.

Police are investigating the death, but have not ruled it a homicide.  Loved ones continue to search for answers.

"Until whoever did this is found, or somebody comes forward and says something there won`t completely be closure," Mathis said.

The medical examiner completed an autopsy.  The information is not being released because it may be critical to the death investigation.
