Chevy Cruze Diesel takes center stage at Greater Milw. Auto Show

MILWAUKEE (WITI) -- The Greater Milwaukee Auto Show wrapped up on Sunday, March 3rd. The show, featuring the newest vehicles has been wowing drivers for over 30 years.

For over a week, drivers flocked to the Delta Center in downtown Milwaukee to take in the newest cars, trucks and SUVs. The venue gives drivers a chance to browse a variety of cars in one room, and take the driver's seat.

"We just got started, but there's a lot to see. It's really nice to get the feel of the car," Vicki Sell said Sunday.

David Schaefer took a look at the 2014 Chevy Cruze Diesel -- the first North American clean diesel passenger car.

"I think it's awesome. I think diesel is really coming along.  I think it's about time some American cars start to have some diesel," Schaefer said.

The car touts an eco-friendly ride with a turbo-charged engine. It is testing at 42 miles per gallon on the highway.

"A lot of horsepower and torque to go along with some really good mileage," Product Specialist with Chevrolet Anne Damman said.

"The more car makers that come along in technology, the better fuel-economy they'll be. Better fuel economy, the engines last a lot longer," Schaefer said.

"We'll have to see how it runs," Josh Kmiecik said.

The Chevy Cruz is expected to be at Milwaukee area dealers in May. It is one of the first six markets getting the car.
