Excitement over impending snow at The Rock Sports Park

FRANKLIN (WITI) -- After a couple of very dry years and a slow start to the season, snowfall has been welcome at The Rock Sports Park in Franklin. At The Rock on Monday, March 4th, there was a lot of excitement for the snow that is expected in the area on Tuesday.

“It gives you a reason to enjoy the winter when most people are hating it," Toby Deutsch said.

On Monday night, Deutsch was like a kid on Christmas Eve, waiting for Santa.

“When those snow storms start coming through myself, a lot of the other guys that are out here, we get really anxious. We get really excited. It’s fun for us," Deutsch said.

Deutsch's candy store is The Rock Sports Park, under the lights and gliding across the snow.

“When other people are parked in their driveways and ready to hunker down for the night, we’re usually gearing up and ready to go out," Deutsch said.

Joe Czajka, the operations manager at The Rock is also excited about the impending snow after the season got off to a slow start.

“We keep making snow when we can and when Mother Nature helps us out we definitely take advantage," Czajka said.

A possible snow day for kids on Tuesday  is a good thing on this hill.

“People get excited about it. And we want to facilitate that for everyone to come out and have a great time with their family and friends," Czajka said.

“I’m always praying for snow this time of year," Deutsch said.

With regular snow over the last month, The Rock has enjoyed a successful first season, which they'll celebrate this coming weekend with a season-ending party. Staff members say the party will only get better if a lot of snow falls between now and then!
