MILWAUKEE (WITI) — A Milwaukee police officer who was fired by Chief Ed Flynn this week was sentenced on Thursday, March 7th.

32-year-old Eric De Vries pleaded no contest to operating while intoxicated and causing injury. The charges stem from an incident last October.

A judge sentenced De Vries to 12 months probation. He also has to pay a $500 fine and will lose his driver’s license for one year.

The Milwaukee Fire and Police Commission is meeting Thursday evening to decide whether to confirm De Vries’ firing.
