Crews battle fire in machine shed at honey bee farm

TOWN OF LYNDON (WITI) -- Sheboygan County Sheriff's officials confirmed a fire at Honey Land Farms on Highview Road on Wednesday, March 27th.

The fire reportedly broke out in a machine shed around 6:30 p.m. Wednesday.

The Sheboygan County Sheriff’s Department received several 911 calls about the smoke, as callers reported they could see the smoke all the way from I-43.

Officials say fortunately, no bees were injured in the fire, as they had been taken down to Florida previously for the winter.

There were no injuries in the fire.

The machine shed is expected to be a total loss.

The Cascade Fire Department responded to the scene and subsequently requested mutual aid from the following Fire departments: Waldo, Batavia, Beechwood, Plymouth, Adell, Greenbush, Cedar Grove, Random Lake, Oostburg, Town of Wilson and Silver Creek.  In addition the Sheboygan County Fire Investigative Unit, Plymouth Ambulance and Cascade First Responders also assisted at the scene.
