Missing 40-year-old Milwaukee woman found safe

MILWAUKEE (WITI) -- Officials say the search for 40-year-old Estella Currin, the missing woman  who hadn't been seen since Sunday morning, March 24th, has ended.

According to police, Currin was found Thursday night, March 28th after she checked herself into a local hospital.

Estella Currin was last seen leaving for work Sunday morning, March 24th. She was on the city’s north side, but her wallet and keys were found in a parking garage near the lake just east of the downtown area.

After Currin's disappearance, her husband, Jeffrey Currin, was going throughout the city, hanging up flyers, talking to people, trying to get clues to where his wife could be.

"I knew she was out there and I knew I was going to find her," Jeffrey Currin said.

Currin tells FOX6 News she wandered into a bar disoriented -- not knowing who or where she was. She claims she saw a picture on the news and realized it was her.

Currin checked herself into Columbia St. Mary's Emergency Room and was reunited with her family early Friday morning, March 29th.

No further details have been released and Sensitive Crimes continues to investigate.
