Officials pull 23-year-old woman from Kinnickinnic River

MILWAUKEE (WITI) -- Milwaukee County sheriff's deputies pulled a 23-year-old woman from the Kinnickinnic River early Friday morning, March 29th.

Deputies responded to a 911 call of a person in the Kinnickinnic River near 1st and Becher shortly before 3 a.m.

According to officials, a deputy used an extension cord from his squad and threw it down to the woman and pulled her to the wall, while holding on to her arm to keep her head out of the water.

Police say the 23-year-old woman was conscious, but intoxicated and unresponsive.

A Milwaukee Fire Department Rescue Unit transported her to St. Francis Hospital.  Her core body temperature was 85 degrees.

She is expected to fully recover.
