EXCLUSIVE: Police need your help finding hit and run driver

MILWAUKEE (WITI) -- Milwaukee police are looking to the public for help locating a vehicle involved in a hit-and-run. Police say a 14-year-old boy was hit on the city's south side  -- near Mitchell and Muskego on Monday night, April 1st.

The boy's mother says Nathan wanted something to drink -- so he went to cross the street to visit a food truck vendor. The boy reportedly walked cross Muskego safely, got his soda from the vendor and waited for his bus to arrive.

The boy's mom says as Nathan got halfway through the crosswalk, a car came barreling through at highway speeds.

"Going 60 to 80 miles an hour. That's what he looked like he went. He almost killed my son," Carla Pacala said.

Police say there is no description of the vehicle available, no license plate numbers -- and police say cameras did not pick up the incident.

There is no word from police as to whether the light was red or green at the time the boy was struck, but the boy's mother says her son looked both ways, saw no cars coming, and was in the crosswalk when he entered the street.

The boy's mother says her son suffered two broken legs, a fractured skull and multiple bruises, as he went airborne after he was hit and landed near the bus stop.

"This child was so active. This child was -- he's just a child that didn't do nothing wrong to nobody. He's a very nice child," Pacala said.

Pacala says she has a message for the driver responsible: "Just please have a conscience and please turn yourself in."

Police are reportedly looking for a dark, four-door vehicle. Anyone with information is asked to contact police.
