Two Waukesha men charged following drug bust

WAUKESHA (WITI) -- 36-year-old Raul Alonso and 32-year-old Otilio Benitez-Gonzalez have been charged following a drug bust in February in Waukesha.

The criminal complaint in the case says on February 12th, a confidential informant had made arrangements to purchase one bindle of cocaine and one-eighth ounce of marijuana for a total of $100 from a subject known as "Tilo" Gonzalez.

Investigators were able to identify "Tilo" as Otilio Benitez-Gonzalez.

The criminal complaint indicates the CI agreed to meet Benitez-Gonzalez in a Walmart parking lot. Investigators later tested the substances given to the CI by Benitez-Gonzalez, and they tested positive for cocaine and marijuana.

The criminal complaint indicates the CI and Benitez-Gonzalez again met up at the Walmart store, for another exchange of drugs.

In March, the criminal complaint indicates the CI contacted Benitez-Gonzalez and asked to purchase drugs and a firearm. The complaint says Benitez-Gonzalez wouldn't speak specifically about the firearm over the phone. However, the complaint says Benitez-Gonzalez agreed to meet the CI and sell drugs/the firearm.

Later in March, the criminal complaint indicates the CI went to an address in the 1000 block of Caroline Street, where the CI was able to purchase drugs and a firearm for a total cost of $1,850. The complaint indicates Benitez-Gonzalez had told the CI he had to work, and left the selling to Alonso and another man.

The criminal complaint indicates the CI talked with Benitez-Gonzalez about purchasing more drugs -- and a transaction was completed the evening of March 27th.

Following that transaction, the complaint indicates a search warrant was executed at the 1000 Caroline Street residence, and Benitez-Gonzalez and Alonso were taken into custody.

During the search, officials found 40.7 grams of cocaine, $4,180 in cash and several one-pound packages of marijuana -- according to the complaint.

When interviewed by officials, Alonso told them he rented the Caroline Street residence and said he was aware Benitez-Gonzalez was trafficking narcotics out of his residence.
