Family hits streets for "Day of Action" one year after murder



MILWAUKEE (WITI) -- One year later, the family of J.J. Kohen is still searching for answers in his death.

On Saturday, April 6th, they hit the streets for a "Day of Action."

Friends and family members of Justin Kohen, who was known by many as J.J. met near 7th and Lincoln Saturday morning.

The group went door-to-door, hoping to raise awareness of Kohen's murder, and get new leads.

28-year-old Kohen died after he was stabbed walking out of his apartment on the city's south side.

"We're still reaching out to the community. We'd like to let them know that as difficult as it is for us as a family, that there's a responsibility amongst the community that knowing there's a murderer out there to try and help us solve the case," Kohen's father, Rick Kohen said.

Police are still looking for Kohen's killer.
