Woman shot in face with shotgun pellets near 22nd and Capitol

MILWAUKEE (WITI) — Milwaukee police responded to the scene of a non-fatal shooting near 22nd and Capitol on Wednesday night, April 24th.

According to police, three male suspects were attempting to rob another woman in the Walgreens parking lot. Police say one of the suspects fired a shotgun at the intended robbery victim as she drove away.

According to officials, the pellets deflected off a vehicle and struck a 51-year-old woman in the face. The woman was treated at the hospital and released.

Police say they do not believe the woman was the intended victim.

Detectives are investigating the incident. No suspects are currently in custody.
