MILWAUKEE (WITI) — Every time the Brewers scored, the Cardinals had an answer as St. Louis takes a third straight game at Miller Park, 7-6.

The Cardinals final run came in the 9th inning after Carlos Gomez committed an error allowing Shane Robinson to get to 2nd on a single. Robinson would steal 3rd and then score on a John Jay single making it 7-6.

The Brewers jumped out to an early 2-0 lead when Jean Segura hit a 2 run home run in the 1st inning off of starter Adam Wainwright. But the lead didn’t last long as Yovani Gallardo gave up a 3 run home run in the top of the 2nd to Jay.

Gallardo would cruise through the next 3 innings before allowing another home run in the 6th by Allen Craig, his first of the year, giving the Cardinals a 4-2 lead.

In the bottom of the 6th, the Crew would rally as Gomez crushed a solo home run to left field cutting the St. Louis lead to 4-3. Jonathan Lucroy would pinch hit for Gallardo and deliver a 2 run single to center to give the Brewers a 5-4 lead.

Once again, the lead didn’t last long. Daniel Descalso lined a 2 run home run to right off of Tom Gorzelanny to make it 6-5 Cardinals.

The Brewers had an answer in the bottom of the 8th when Nori Aoki squeezed home Jeff Bianchi who slid underneath the tag of Yadier Molina to tie the game at 6.

After the Cardinals took the lead in the 9th, the Brewers were retired in order to lose their 3rd in a row to the Cardinals and their 5th in 6 games this season.

Sunday, Milwaukee will try to salvage a win and avoid a series sweep.
