Pedestrian struck, injured while crossing Water St. near Highland Ave.

MILWAUKEE (WITI) -- A  59-year-old Milwaukee man is in critical condition after being struck by a vehicle while crossing Water Street early Friday morning, May 31st.

According to officials, the man was crossing Water Street near Highland around 3:10 a.m. when he was hit by a 32-year-old Milwaukee woman traveling northbound.

Officials say the pedestrian was crossing eastbound outside of a crosswalk.

The 32-year-old woman remained on scene and is currently in-custody for operating while intoxicated.

The pedestrian is in critical condition at a local hospital.
