Ihor Sahan pleads guilty in Waukesha County court

WAUKESHA CO. (WITI) -- Ihor Sahan pleaded guilty in a Waukesha County court on Tuesday, June 4th to one count of homicide by intoxicated use of a vehicle and another misdemeanor.

Sahan is the Cudahy man who was charged for a crash involving a Waukesha County Sheriff’s squad car that killed his friend.

Investigators say Sahan was driving drunk in November 2012 when he slammed into a Waukesha County Sheriff’s squad car on I-94 near Sunny Slope.

Two deputies, identified as Bryan Skaar and Patrick Sykes jumped into action to pull Sahan and his passenger, 17-year-old Ryan Petri from their vehicle. Petri was listed in critical condition after the crash and later died at the hospital. The Sheriff’s deputies were injured as a result of the crash.

Four other charges against Sahan were either dismissed or read into the court record.

Sahan will be back in court for his sentencing on Thursday, August 29th.
