Milw. Art Museum offering free admission June 15th & 16th









MILWAUKEE (WITI) -- In celebration of its 125th anniversary, and in conjunction with the opening of the feature exhibition 30 Americans, the Milwaukee Art Museum will host a Community Days event, with free admission on Saturday, June 15, and Sunday, June 16.

The Museum is open 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. and admission will be free for everyone who visits.

The Milwaukee Art Museum is featuring 30 Americans this summer, an exhibition of thirty-one contemporary works by African American artists.

The exhibition explores the idea of race, gender, identity, and culture is on view June 14 through September 8. Concurrently, the Museum is hosting a special exhibition of Wisconsin-based African American artists called Wisconsin 30.

 Free admission includes access to the entire Museum, including 30 Americans and Wisconsin 30, as well as the programming and activities throughout the Community Days weekend.

A variety of activities for all ages are planned throughout the weekend, including guest speakers, lectures, family events and hands-on art making and more.
